2015. Június 11.
Vienna is waiting for you! Although winter is over and all the Christmas lights and Advent Markets are gone, the sunny weather and summer holidays are on their way. This spring and summer is the best time for you to pop over to this wonderful capital city of Austria. Vienna is rich in sights worth checking out, but this time we collected the top must-see spots for rather short stays.
Vienna or Versailles? Schönbrunn makes you wonder
There's no dobut that Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens are among the top must-see Vienna sights. Since the 1950s it was a popular tourist attraction, and it's no wonder: the wonderful palace and the surrounding gardens make you feel like you're in Versailles! A former imperial summer residence, the Schönbrunn Palace is a diamond to discover in Vienna. During the 20 years of our services, no guest of ours left without comparing Schönbrunn to its French counterpart.
MuseumsQuartier, not just for art-lovers
As in the German capital, Vienna has it's own quartier for museums. It's unbelievably practical, and at the same time, fun, to wander among the different museum buildings. You'll find here the Leopold Museum and the Museum für Moderne Kunst as well, both offer a great range of pieces of art. The Kunsthistorisches Museum is by far one of the most wanted sights in Vienna, and it's also very close to the MuseumsQuartier, so nothings stops you from enjoying an afternoon among famous works of art.
Architectural pleasures for your eyes
St. Stephen's Cathedral, or in its German name, Stephansdom is one of the greatest architectural sights in Vienna. This Roman Catholic church, built in Romanesque and Gothic style is the most important religious spot in the city. Among countless interesting details you'll find surprising ones as well – for example, the fact that the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi's funeral took place in this cathedral.
The Ringstraße area gives also stunning views. The buildings, built in various styles, altogether result an eclectic and spectacular view. Especially Rathausplatz and the Parliament building worth your time!
If you happen to be near Vienna in the months yet to come, don't miss the opportunity to see these fabulous spots! The Austrian capital is also a perfect choice for a city break, or a short week-end holiday.
